So I gotta get you-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh out my head now-I just cut you off.

This week’s song has been the most popular. Thank you, Selena Gomez, for your help! My students were humming it by the end of the lesson and that’s always a good sign 🙂

Here’s what you need to know if you want to use my materials:

Level and time

Appropriate for upper intermediate/advanced. It was perfect for my C1 students. It took about 60 minutes to complete all the tasks.

Focus

Skills:

  1. listening (global understanding and decoding)
  2. speaking (fluency)

Systems:

  1. Chunks found in the text
  2. gotta
  3. yod coalescence
  4. weak form of prepositions in mid position

Feedback from students

I didn’t know the song and I really like it. (non-teaching related but you know, it motivated them to listen!)

I like the expression “a clean slate“. I’m definitely going to use it.

I had never noticed gotta before.

I couldn’t understand with! It sounded like we. Now I see why!
